Thousands of Monzo customers have reported having difficulties accessing the bank's mobile app. Platform outage monitor Downdetector saw more than 4,000 reports from users complaining of problems on Thursday afternoon. The company has acknowledged "experiencing an issue" with its app - a web page displaying the status of Monzo services says the firm is "continuing to investigate this issue".
Monzo has been fined £21 million by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) after fraudsters were able to open bank accounts using clearly fake or implausible addresses - including Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street.
