At Philz, we have always believed everyone who walks through our doors deserves to feel welcome and safe, and that belief is at the core of everything we do... This is a change in how our stores look, not in who we are.
"The pride flags within the stores hold deep meaning and value to both staff and visitors, symbolizing that these locations are safe and welcoming spaces for all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity."
It's time to get your pour-over while you're pulled over. Philz Coffee opened a new location in Pleasanton last week, marking the coffee chain's first-ever drive-thru location in Northern California. The new location will still welcome guests inside, with seating for 35 people, but its the outside of the store that should be the most eye-catching. There are custom-designed murals by California artist Lauren Cooper, with art paying homage to local landmarks including Pleasanton Ridge, the downtown Pleasanton arch and the Alameda County Fair's horse track.
On Wednesday, Philz unveiled its newest Bay Area coffee shop location at 1803 Santa Rita Rd. in Pleasanton, complete with a drive-thru option. The property was previously a KFC restaurant before it closed in 2023, according to Pleasanton Weekly. The new Philz store addition marks the chain's 79 th location as well as the second Philz to feature a drive-thru.
