An estimated 13,000 Pokémon fans descended on London's ExCeL centre last weekend (Feb 13-15), travelling from all over the UK and the world, to attend the ninth annual Pokémon Europe International Championships (PEUIC). All united by their love for the Japanese game, the event saw 7,000 competitors take part in heated battles in the Trading Card Game (TCG), the Video Games Championships (VGC) and Pokémon GO. Competing is serious stuff, with winners taking home cash from a total prize pool of $500,000 (£369,170).

That's certainly not the only new Pokemon coming to the game. A few other monsters are set to make their debut this month, such as the psychic Pokemon Indeedee and a special Psyduck wearing a swim ring to celebrate the new season of the Netflix hit Pokemon Concierge. You'll also have more chances to catch the rare fairy Pokemon Flabebe during September's Community Day.

Snom is now available in Pokémon Go through hatching 7 km eggs or completing Research tasks during the Cozy Companions event, with Frosmoth evolving from Snom.

Lunala will be available as a five-star raid boss from July 22 to 28, providing a limited time opportunity for players to capture this legendary Pokémon.

DJ Pikachu is currently hosting an hour-long DJ set filled with Pokemon-themed music, leading up to the Pokemon Presents event that starts at 6 AM PT.

Quaxly Community Day will occur on July 20 from 2-5 p.m. local time, featuring increased spawn rates for Quaxly, shiny chances, and several bonuses.

Eevee Community Day Classic will be held on July 5 and 6 from 2-5 p.m. local time, featuring increased Eevee spawns and shiny rates.

In February 2023, a new set of Masterwork Research was introduced, called 'Wish Granted', allowing players to obtain a shiny Jirachi upon completion.

The 'Go Pass' in Pokémon Go allows players to earn rewards through gameplay by completing tasks and winning battles, similar to other game battle passes.
