Sabrina Carpenter is set perform at the 2026 Grammys, the Recording Academy has announced, 12 months after she stole the 2025 show with a Goldie Hawn-inspired production of her singles "Espresso" and "Please Please Please." The pop star is also up for six awards at this year's ceremony: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Man's Best Friend; and Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video for "Manchild."
She kicked it off by bringing home two Grammy awards for her album Short n' Sweet and her hit single "Espresso." Five months later, on Aug. 29, she released Man's Best Friend, which racked up six more nominations when the shortlist for the 2026 Grammys was announced in November. Plus, Carpenter spent the better half of the year touring Short n' Sweet.
In the caption for the clip, the White House quoted Carpenter's lyrics, Have you ever tried this one? Bye-bye. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson retorted in a statement: Here's a Short n Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won't apologise for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country. Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?
The White House's official TikTok is stirring controversy again. After using Wicked's "Defying Gravity" to celebrate the detention of people by ICE, it has now used Sabrina Carpenter's "Juno", which is about sex, in a bid to further promote ICE's work. Captioned, "Have you ever tried this one? Bye-bye", the 14-second clip shows people being pursued by ICE officers and handcuffed, while the lyric, "have you ever tried this one? repeats three times.
Carpenter dropped the music video for the second single from Man's Best Friend at the end of August. It featured Oscar-nominated Rustin and Sing Sing star Colman Domingo in Dr Frank-N-Furter-style drag and poked fun at men who give the absolute bare minimum in relationships, with Carpenter sensually cooing about how hot-and-bothered a lack of simple politeness and not doing household tasks, such as washing the dishes, leaves her.
The fund, which was set up as a collaboration between the "House Tour" singer and non-profit PLUS1 in 2024, raises money to support a range of causes including animal welfare and mental health. A large portion of the fund is dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ causes, with charities Rainbow Railroad and the LGBT National Help Center having benefited from the fund. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold for Carpenter's ongoing Short n' Sweet Tour is added to her charitable fund.
For her live debut of "Nobody's Son" on , Sabrina Carpenter is reminding us of her namesake; she will be handling some wood planks. In a sparkly gi with a matching black belt and high heels, Carpenter answers the age-old question posed by Eras Tour dancer Jan Ravnik just a few short weeks ago:
There's a peculiar kind of dread that shows up when you realize you've made plans and then forgotten about them until the day itself. Socializing with other people is fun and healthy, but there's also something to be said for relaxing alone or with a significant other. Having promised relaxation torn away by a remembered obligation is eminently relatable, and it's something this week's SNL addressed in a sketch.
If there's one thing the Grammy winner will do, it's embrace her cheekiness. When she's not casually dropping double entendres lyrically or during her live ad-libs (e.g. her "Nonsense" outros or "Juno" cuffing skits), she's styling her clothes cheekily - sometimes literally, where her cheeks are actually out. Between her 2025 Met Gala tuxedo bodysuit and her string of no-pants looks for her Man's Best Friend visuals, Carpenter has been spotlighting her bum in teeny ensembles. This look was no different.
Sabrina Carpenter has been joined by a string of special guests during her run of 2025 festival dates, including Duran Duran at London's BST Hyde Park and Earth Wind & Fire for at Lollapalooza. That trend continued during Carpenter's weekend one headlining slot at Austin City Limits, where she invited Shania Twain to join her for a performance of That Don't Impress Me Much.
We're screaming and waving our arms all wiggly, Kermit-style. Disney is bringing back The Muppet Showin its OG variety-show format [ Kermit: Yay!]. For one stand-alone special [ Kermit: makes angry-fist face]. We're getting exactly one of something we want infinitely repeated, sometime in 2026. The Muppets made the announcement on social media, showing the new backstage set and Kermit's mug.
On Sunday (7 September) Carpenter attended the awards ceremony where she won three awards, Best Pop Artist, Best Album (for Short n' Sweet), and Best Visual Effects for "Manchild." The "Taste" singer also performed her new song, "Tears", during the show, in which she featured many RuPaul's Drag Race and queer icons. After the performance, Pascal, an ally to the LGBTQ+ community with a trans sister, Lux Pascal, took to his Instagram to celebrate Carpenter.
