Pulling double duty as host and musical guest on this week's Saturday Night Live, Sabrina Carpenter staged a pair of instantly iconic performances in support of her latest album, Man's Best Friend. Carpenter first performed Manchild on a bedroom-themed set, dressed in SNL-branded pajamas, and singing into a hairbrush like a microphone. For many years, John Mulaney was the fresh-faced, mild-mannered young darling of comedy.

The show opened with a skit mocking Hegseth, portrayed by comedian Colin Jost, ridiculing the Defense Secretary's address to military leaders in Quantico, Virginia, last week. "You don't want to follow the rules? Hey, no problem. You know who's going to want your sick, twisted, fat ass? ICE," Jost said, referring to Hegseth's comments about Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. "Got a sign-up sheet for ICE in the hallway, check them out. In her first interview for the film, Ronan wasn't putting it on: There really isn't much like "Bad Apples," and that's a compliment. Consider two things: the film's short synopsis ("A primary school teacher [is] forced to take drastic action because of a foul-mouthed, violent student"), which doesn't sound exactly funny, and one of the main inspirations for Etzler casting the four-time Oscar nominee in a film that is, indeed, very funny.

DeMaria, known as Demo in the shop, retired after the 50th season finale, May 17, ending a 50-year career crafting memorable moments for Saturday Night Live.

"It just sounds like a bad - we have had sketch comedy before, and it just feels like 'Saturday Night Live' is such a unique group. It's a cult."

Saturday Night Live has always represented a sort of pie-in-the-sky dream for up-and-coming comedians, a mainstream seal of approval that everyone covets on some level.

Lizzo's performance on SNL marked her third appearance on the show, and she showcased a medley of new singles, further solidifying her musical comeback.
