A new report warns that some young people in England are experiencing hardship reminiscent of Dickensian poverty, with examples like black mould in bedrooms and rats in kitchens.

Single fathers raising children full-time often find themselves overlooked by support systems, with public narratives focusing predominantly on mothers, contributing to misunderstanding and under-resourcing.

'It's easy to convince a kid to do something like this; you just have to find a young man who comes from a dysfunctional and impoverished family and dazzle him with money,' explains Irvin Mendoza Rodriguez.

"The U.S. poverty rate has substantially decreased over the last decade, yet nearly 41 million Americans continue to live at or below the designated poverty line."
