Amid the initial backlash, she's continued to drop new collections and photo shoots, modeling her latest wares. On Feb. 18, she shared yet another photo dump on Instagram, showing off her thong undies in an unlikely way.

Sydney Sweeney is in a denim state of mind. On Monday, Feb. 9, she wore a Canadian tuxedo to hit up the New York Stock Exchange and ring the bell with American Eagle, a brand she's been endorsing since July. Proving she's an effective ambassador, the Euphoria star basically turned her entire day into an AE catalog when she changed into not one, but two more jean looks later that day, one of which even had a peekaboo promotional moment for her own label, SYRN.

All you have to do now is convince a society besieged by a nonstop cavalcade of crises to care.

For the majority of The Housemaid, it's pretty clear that something's off with the picture-perfect family of the Winchesters. When Nina Winchester (Amanda Seyfried) hires the desperate Millie Calloway (Sydney Sweeney) to be her housemaid, she seems sweet and normal, if a little airheaded. Pregnancy hormones, she reveals conspiratorially to Millie. But don't tell her husband, she wants it to be a surprise ...

A masterclass in layering, Sweeney wore a long-sleeved gray sweater with a quasi-ruffled hem, which she paired with a vintage-inspired black leather jacket with a built-in furry dark chocolate vest, giving it the illusion of layering. As for the bottom half of her ensemble, she wore an itty-bitty brown miniskirt with a slit. Sweeney has a particular affinity for a Miu Miu mini, rocking various iterations while out.

"I was honestly surprised by the reaction," Sweeney explained. "I did it because I love the jeans and love the brand. I don't support the views some people chose to connect to the campaign. Many have assigned motives and labels to me that just aren't true."

On Sunday, Nov. 30, the Euphoria star shared snaps from a recent themed Friendsgiving celebration. And the motif? Shrek. Everyone got the memo and showed up dressed as a character from the franchise, repping everyone from Fiona to the Gingerbread Man. Sweeney, however, gifted with the magic touch of making anything - including a fictional, swampy ogre-led crew - look spicy, used her Midas touch on her chosen character in a teeny, tiny bodysuit.

Yes, she is young, beautiful, rich and talented, but she has also been getting it from all sides this week. Her passion project has bombed at the box office; she is still paying for a jeans advertisement she did four months ago, and being called on to address charges of having joked about eugenics; and fellow members of the Hollywood elite are breaking ranks to express their disdain (in one case, with a vomiting emoji).

You kissed me during an SNL sketch and then apologized afterwards for opening your mouth too much. Be honest, did you do that on purpose?

The original Christy Martin script was incredible. Life changing. I was attached to play Cherry. Everyone had experience with the core material. Most of us were actually gay. It's part of why I stayed in acting. Rose then decried Sweeney and her team's statements about the film's box office. Rose claims Team Sweeney said they made the movie for "the people," meaning gay people, but that "None of 'the people' want to see someone who hates them, parading around pretending to be us.

Despite her American Eagle jeans ad controversy this summer, and her box-office defense of Christy in the fall, the Sydney Sweeney machine can't stop and won't be stopped. Next up in her never-ending press tour is the suburban thriller The Housemaid, which she co-stars in with Amanda Seyfried. (Then Euphoria in the spring. It will never end.) The movie's November 12 seasonal trailer opens with the message, "Season's Greetings from the Winchester Family." But there's no joy or merriment to be found.

Although the actress didn't elaborate on her connection with the topic, Sweeney went on to share why she relates to Martin's career. For Christy, the ring was her escape. It's almost like you're a caged animal inside this ring, but it's a place where she feels the most free, she said. I am definitely a caged animal in a sense. Acting is my ring. It's where I feel freedom. The set is where everything else goes quiet.
