The crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the Iron Point Station, near an outlet mall next to Highway 50, the Sacramento Regional Transit District said. The car reportedly veered off Iron Point Road, hit a tree at the edge of the mall's parking lot, then continued about 200 feet across the lot and crashed into the elevated train platform. It struck a person on the platform, then flipped over a railing and landed on the train track.

The 10-day search for a man gone missing in Rohnert Park has come to a heartbreaking end, as the missing 29-year-old was found dead and submerged in a Tesla at the bottom of Bodega Bay, though foul play is not suspected. 29-year-old Rohnert Park resident Kale Gonick-Hallows, 29 went missing on January 5, last seen leaving his apartment and driving off into a storm.

The dump truck then veered left into a Nissan Maxima (sideswipe), which was driving next to it, before continuing south across the eastbound lanes of Cactus Rd into and through the residential wall. Fox 10 Scottsdale reported Wednesday that the truck was carrying more than 20 tons of rocks and left a large hole in the residential wall. The homeowner of the assisted living facility described the crash like an explosion, according to Fox 10.
