For many years, the Serie A schedule has been a hot topic among calcio faithfuls. NEW YORK -- After a yearslong legal battle, U.S. prosecutors told the Supreme Court on Tuesday that they want to give up their fight to preserve the convictions of a former Fox executive and a South American sports media company in a corruption case related to TV rights for international soccer tournaments. Hernan Lopez, ex-CEO of Fox International Channels, and Full Play Group SA were convicted in 2023 after a trial in New York but subsequently granted an acquittal by a judge.

Fifa has yet to reveal the venues, which may have an effect on ticket sales. Arsenal, Corinthians (the Copa Libertadores holders) and Gotham FC (the Concacaf champions) have qualified for the semi-finals. The Chinese club Wuhan Jiangda beat Auckland United in October to progress to this month's playoff against the Moroccan side AS FAR for the right to face Arsenal. The second semi-final will be between Gotham and Corinthians.
