Gabriela Gonzalez, a 24-year-old with a large social media following, was charged Tuesday with one count of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation of murder in the alleged plot to kill Jack Avery, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said. Gonzalez's father, Francisco Gonzalez, 59, and her then-boyfriend Kai Cordrey, 26, face the same charges.
Alan Chambers, the former president of anti-gay organization Exodus International, was arrested this week for allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to and attempting to meet with an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old boy. The 54-year-old was taken into custody Tuesday during a traffic stop in Orlando, Florida, following a months-long investigation, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Joseph C. Norton, vice chair of the Framingham Planning Board, was arrested on Dec. 18 in a coordinated online operation between State and Framingham investigators, according to a Boston Globe report. On Dec. 19, he pleaded not guilty to charges of enticing a child under 16, paying for sex with a child under 18, and attempting to commit a crime, according to the report. He was released on $2,000 cash bail and is due back in court for a Jan. 30 hearing.
Santa Rosa police identified 63-year-old Michael Tarvid as the suspect after learning he had used an email tied to a fake adult-film business to contact women, authorities said. Detectives allege Tarvid persuaded women to perform sex acts he recorded on his phone by presenting them as audition videos for future film projects and for clients seeking commercial sex. Investigators later received a tip that Tarvid was also attempting to solicit minors, police said.
