Aontu fires youth leader and five others over secret racist WhatsApp chat group

Party chief Peadar Tóibín 'shocked and disgusted' after bigoted posts from private chat exposed Aontú has sacked the leader of its youth wing and dismissed five other members after it learnt of the existence of ­secret WhatsApp groups where some Ógra Aontú members posted racist and antisemitic comments. The Sunday Independent has seen a collection of the inflammatory posts that led Aontú to dismiss six members of its youth wing from the party, while three others remain suspended pending further investigation.
