The Ring Pop factory in Scranton, Pennsylvania, unexpectedly shut down due to structural issues, disrupting the production of this iconic candy that has delighted generations. After a seven-month hiatus, Bazooka Candy Brands launched a new factory, aiming to not only resume production but also increase output significantly. The new facility will nearly double the annual production rate, addressing the supply gap swiftly. With consistent year-over-year growth in sales, Ring Pop's popularity remains strong among consumers, spanning various generations.
"Everyone knows Ring Pop. All I have to do is put its shape in front of somebody and they know immediately what it is," says Tony Jacobs, CEO of Ring Pop maker, Bazooka Candy Brands.
"We should be able to fill up the pipeline by June," Jacob says, adding that the new factory is expected to churn out nearly double the amount of Ring Pops made annually.
