A second blaze broke out Wednesday in El Dorado County near a middle school and a ranch, prompting evacuation orders, authorities said.
Multiple structures were threatened by what authorities called the Silver Fire, a 35-acre blaze that ignited near Green Springs Ranch.
Residents were ordered to evacuate areas north of Green Valley Road, east of Dear Valley Road and west of Starbuck Road.
There was 0% containment for the Silver Fire, authorities said. Firefighters also battled the Crozier Fire near Placerville that burned 245 acres by Wednesday afternoon.
