Officers arrived and found a pedestrian in the roadway with severe injuries. Officers immediately administered first aid until the Fire Department arrived and continued treatment.
Mountain View Police officers were able to locate the fleeing vehicle a short distance away from where the collision had occurred and identified the driver, Erick Barrios.
He was booked into the Santa Clara Main Jail on 1 count of California Penal Code 187(a) (Murder), 1 count of California Vehicle Code 20001 (a) (felony hit and run with injury), 1 count of California Vehicle Code 23153 (a) (felony driving under the influence) and an outstanding warrant.
