Eric Valencia, 37, was arrested for DUI and child endangerment on March 20. He was released on March 23 without signs of distress. Surveillance footage shows him entering a patrol vehicle unlawfully. Valencia had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit at the time of his arrest. His body was discovered three days later inside the unlocked SUV. His cellphone was functional, and he did not call for help. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his actions after release.
