President Trump reiterated his warning about potential trade tariffs on the EU and the UK, expressing discontent with the EU's significant trade deficit with the US. He indicated that tariffs "definitely happen" for the EU but remained optimistic about working things out with the UK amid Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to Brussels. Despite ongoing tensions regarding trade, Starmer aims for a robust trade relationship with the US, emphasizing the early stages of their dialogue. The broader context includes recent stiff tariffs imposed on Canada, Mexico, and China, potentially influencing transatlantic relations.

A strong trading relationship is what I have centered discussions on with President Trump. It’s very early days in our interactions.
