Robert Rodriguez launches Brass Knuckle Films, turning movie fans into investors
Briefly

Robert Rodriguez has introduced Brass Knuckle Films, a project allowing fans to invest in and profit from action films produced by his Troblemaker Studios. Collaborating with investment platform Republic, fans can submit movie concepts for potential development into full-length features. Rodriguez argues that fans are passionate and should financially benefit from the industry instead of just studio executives. The initiative promises to streamline production and connect extensively with fans, differentiating it from previous ventures in audience-funded film projects.
"When I talk to studio execs, they're like zombies in suits. They don't watch movies. They're not fans of movies. They're in it for a business," says Rodriguez, cofounder of Brass Knuckle Films.
"Studios have never made things efficient," says Alexis Garcia, cofounder of Brass Knuckle Films. "So if you can offer [efficiency with] less cooks in the kitchen, it empowers the creativity of the filmmaker."
