Ticketmaster has issued warnings to concert, sporting, theatre, and festival attendees about fraudulent ticket sales. A Dublin-based seller is tricking fans with false tickets promising delivery on show nights. The statement highlights that only verified tickets should be purchased directly from Ticketmaster's official site to avoid scams. Several victims have reportedly lost large amounts of money. In response, enhanced security measures and verification processes for future events are being implemented in collaboration with An Garda Síochána, and fans are encouraged to report any related information or experiences.
The company has warned all concert, sporting, theatre and festival goers to be extra vigilant for fraudulent ticket sellers falsely claiming to represent Ticketmaster, who is the authorised ticket agent for most events. A Dublin-based fake ticket seller is promising fans advance tickets and/or tickets for last minute collection from the venue on show night that do not exist. Unfortunately, some fans have already lost large sums of money to this individual.
Enhanced security and ticket verification arrangements are being implemented for all forthcoming events as a result, with Ticketmaster working alongside members of An Garda Síochána.
Fans have been urged to report any information they may have to the gardaí, adding: 'If you have been a victim or have any information regarding this crime, we strongly encourage you to report it immediately to An Garda Siochána.'
