A 20-year-old man named Jason Junior Romeo was fatally stabbed in Hackney, marking the third such incident in London within just three days. He succumbed to his injuries after a fight on Bodney Road on February 18. The police have arrested two men in their 20s in connection with the incident. Officers are urging anyone with information or footage of the scene to come forward. Community leaders express devastation over the loss of life to knife crime and stress the need for preventative measures and enhanced police presence in the area to curb such violence.
Our continued thoughts go out to his family, who are being supported by specialist officers. This senseless attack has taken Jason's whole life ahead of him.
It is absolutely devastating for Jason's family and extremely distressing for our communities that another young life has been taken away as a consequence of knife crime.
If any young person feels they need to carry a knife please speak to a parent, carer, teacher, youth leader or adult you trust.
While the investigation continues to work to understand the motive for this attack, we will work tirelessly to reduce the risk of any further violence.
