Apple stated it would follow the laws in the jurisdictions where it operates, which meant the removal of ByteDance apps like CapCut and Lemon8 from the US app store.
The developers of Marvel Snap expressed surprise at their game's inclusion in the shutdown, stating they are working to restore the game quickly after the unexpected takedown.
With the cancellation of their apps in the US, ByteDance's attempts to boost Lemon8 among TikTok users fell flat against the sudden compliance by Apple.
