Teenagers displaying problematic phone use' more likely to be depressed
Briefly

About one in five teenagers aged 16-18 displayed problematic behaviour with their phones, with many wanting help to cut down. Similarities between problematic smartphone use and addictions include loss of control, neglect of activities, and distress if access is restricted.
Dr. Nicola Kalk, a co-author of the study, emphasized that while smartphones are fun and useful, some individuals struggle with them, showing signs of addiction. Over 60% wanted to reduce usage, with those having PSU more likely to seek help.
