Warehouse workers from across the U.S., including major cities like New York and San Francisco, have taken the biggest strike against Amazon, pressing for contract negotiations with their union.
Teamsters' General President Sean O'Brien stated, 'If your package is delayed during the holidays, you can blame Amazon's insatiable greed,' highlighting the urgency of negotiations that Amazon ignored.
Despite the strike, Amazon believes it will not impact operations significantly, as investors showed confidence with nearly a 1% rise in shares before market opening.
Amazon's spokesperson accused the Teamsters of misleading information, claiming they attempted to coerce members amidst a situation where only about 1% of its workforce is unionized.
