Piccino owners Margherita Sagan and Sheryl Rogat will take over the Presidio space currently occupied by Sessions, with a new pasta-and-pizza-focused menu that leans heavily on vegetables.
Sagan reflects on the past few years as taxing but notes, 'After the pandemic, I thought the restaurant business will never give me joy again, but it's changed over the last year.'
The expansion includes sourcing vegetables from George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch, with wines also coming from Skywalker Vineyards, establishing a unique connection to the Lucasfilm complex.
Piccino, which has a long history in the Dogpatch neighborhood, began in 2006 and has expanded multiple times, showcasing their resilience and commitment to community.
