Elizabeth line to be hit with four days of train driver strikes
Briefly

ASLEF union members, comprising Elizabeth line train drivers, are set to strike for four days due to a pay dispute with MTR Elizabeth line. A recent ballot showed overwhelming support for the strike, with 95% voting in favor. The strike dates are February 27, March 1, March 8, and March 10, 2025. MTR's Managing Director expressed disappointment over the rejection of a 4.5% pay rise, citing it would keep salaries among the highest in the industry. ASLEF leaders emphasized action is a last resort and urged MTR to resume negotiations.
Taking action is always a last resort, because we do not want to inconvenience passengers and our members do not want to lose money.
We are disappointed that drivers on the Elizabeth line have rejected a 4.5% pay rise and voted for industrial action.
