Man arrested in fatal baseball bat attack on California businessman
Briefly

Ronalee Barrett Stanberry, 37, was arrested on suspicion of murder, mayhem, and burglary in connection with the death of businessman Fritz Mendoza. The incident occurred on January 10, when Stanberry allegedly broke into Mendoza's insurance agency, and fatal violence erupted after Mendoza's son confronted him. Stanberry has been described by police as a transient, with a history of hopping trains. He is currently in custody without bail following his arrest in Hollywood, and is due to appear in court on January 30.
Police Chief Michael Dorsey described Stanberry as a hobo who gets around by hopping on trains. We are grateful for the numerous tips and for the tireless efforts of investigators that led to the arrest of Stanberry.
Stanberry was detained in Hollywood by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department around 2 a.m., said Officer Steve Reed, a Fontana police spokesman.
