The incident occurred at approximately 10am on Coneyburrow Road, Lifford, where two men were assaulted, resulting in serious and lesser injuries requiring hospitalization.
One victim, in his 20s, needed airlift to Royal Victoria Hospital for severe injuries, while a second man in his 60s was treated at Letterkenny.
Authorities, including Gardaí, have cordoned off the area for a technical examination and are strongly urging witnesses to come forward.
Gardaí are specifically seeking dash-cam footage or any other video from the vicinity during the hour surrounding the assault.
