Three teens charged after retired NYPD lieutenant attacked in NYC
Briefly

Three teenage boys, two aged 13 and one aged 14, assaulted a retired NYPD lieutenant while he was trying to protect a cab driver from harassment. The attack occurred around 8 p.m. on the Upper East Side. The assailants were identified from surveillance photos released by the police, prompting their parents to bring them to authorities, reportedly out of embarrassment. They face charges of second-degree gang assault and second-degree assault, while the elderly victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical assistance.
I guess they were embarrassed.
