Police kill 62-year-old man allegedly holding gun in East Harlem

The two officers discharged their firearms, striking the male, after he brandished a weapon and refused numerous commands to drop it, according to NYPD Chief of Housing Martine Materasso.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the man to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries sustained during the encounter with police.
While NYPD officials confirmed the gun was recovered at the scene, they have not disclosed whether the victim fired any shots during the incident, as that remains under investigation.
