Transit police in Queens are actively pursuing a suspect involved in a subway stabbing that occurred during a verbal dispute on January 31, 2025. The victim, a 28-year-old man, was attacked at the Steinway Street station and suffered multiple stab wounds. Following the assault, the suspect escaped, and authorities have released images in an effort to locate him. Despite a rise in violent incidents, recent crime statistics indicate a significant drop in subway-related crimes in January 2025, prompting increased police presence in the transit system.
Following the heinous assault, the perpetrator fled the station to parts unknown. Officers from the 114th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 20 responded to the incident.
