On Saturday night, two gunmen opened fire in a Bronx Wendy's, wounding two men seriously. The incident occurred around 7:42 p.m. at 342 East Fordham Road. Police reported that the suspects observed their victims for several minutes before opening fire, then briefly exited and returned to shoot from near the entrance. One victim, aged 26, sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and back, while a 27-year-old was hit in the arm and thigh. Both are expected to survive. The shooters, possibly teenagers, fled the scene, and detectives are investigating a possible gang-related motive.
The gunfire erupted at approximately 7:42 p.m. on April 5 inside the fast food joint located at 342 East Fordham Road in Fordham Heights.
EMS rushed both victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and are expected to survive.
Detectives are looking into whether a gang beef may have sparked the violence.
