Briefly

A recent study by Away Holidays revealed unexpected global cities that are becoming popular among remote workers. The surge in TikTok searches for "digital nomad destination" reflects growing interest in remote work flexibility. Analyzing factors like internet speed, cost of living, and visa policies, the study ranks cities like Los Angeles and New York alongside unexpected favorites like Budapest and Cape Town. Experts emphasize that localization, infrastructure, and quality of life are key determinants for choosing these digital hubs, indicating a significant lifestyle shift among young professionals.
"Localization, language accessibility, infrastructure and access to public services, are a huge make or break a city for digital nomads," Salvador Ordorica said. "Coworking spaces, cost living, visa friendly policies and reliable internet all determine whether a city is a go-to destination for remote workers."
Ordorica added, "This list reflects a global shift toward more balanced lifestyles, where quality of life, connectivity, culture and peace of mind can be experienced."
Tim Leffel noted that key drivers for remote workers include rental costs, visa ease, average internet speed, and the ease of making friends with like-minded individuals.
