Menlo Park is getting a Michelin-cred chicken and wine restaurant
Briefly

Café Vivant and Somm Cellars are set to launch a new 5,000-square-foot location in Menlo Park this summer, focusing on heritage poultry and fine wine. Backed by experienced sommeliers Jason Jacobeit and Daniel Jung, who previously worked in top NYC restaurants, the duo aims to enrich U.S. poultry offerings with heritage breeds cultivated for flavor. They've partnered with Corvus Farm to create a sustainable farm near Santa Cruz, producing unique poultry and more. The restaurant will be helmed by Executive Chef Jared Wentworth and Chef de Cuisine Emily Phillips, bringing extensive culinary accolades to the project.
"In these countries, the focus isn't on conventional farming labels and lifestyle inputs like 'organic' or 'free-range' but on Heritage breeds - birds prized for their robust genetics, which directly contribute to their rich, complex flavor."
"For the past seven months, our farm has been ground zero for an ambitious research and development project into heritage-breed poultry genetics, designed to prioritize both exceptional flavor and environmental stewardship."
