"Jack was shot following a verbal exchange at a gathering in the area. Police said he was not involved in any gangs or criminal activity, said police. At the time, investigators had little information on the suspect other than he was male and wearing dark clothes during the shooting."
"If you choose to help someone avoid accountability, you're committing a serious criminal offence, he said. In a message to Yeberebaba, Campbell urged him to do the right thing and turn himself in. Anyone who believes they have seen the suspect or has any information is requested to contact police immediately."
Jahkai Jack, a 15-year-old Toronto resident, was fatally shot on June 7, 2025, near Emmett Avenue and Jane Street following a verbal exchange at a gathering. Police have now identified 20-year-old Abdul Yeberebaba as the suspect and issued a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest on second-degree murder charges.
