Courtyard House in Uppsala / Jagnefalt Milton
Briefly

Jägnefält Milton's renovation of the Vasahuset farmhouse seeks to harmonize the building's aesthetic integrity with its functional needs as both a home and office. Originally constructed in German Art Nouveau style, the building has undergone numerous modifications over the years that compromised its character. The architects aim to restore the farmhouse's essence, addressing issues like poor maintenance and outdated interiors while preserving original features like windows and facades. New entrances will enhance functionality, providing seamless integration with the existing structure, thus reviving the farmhouse’s previously lost unity.
The design preserves the existing character of the Vasahuset farmhouse while creating a functional residence and office for the family, addressing years of neglect and deterioration.
By revitalizing the façade and refurbishing original windows, the project aims to renew the building's aesthetic integrity while simultaneously modernizing its functionality for contemporary use.
