In a Truth Social post hyping up the address subject unknown Trump promised: It has been a great year for our country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME! I agree the Epstein files are due on Friday, Kimmel quipped. Basically, the speech tonight was taking the stand in his own defense. It was opening statements. It really is amazing that this fool is president.
The good news for Trump is that his administration has a new sex scandal that for once has nothing to do with him, said Kimmel during his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live. After explaining Kennedy's alleged digital affair with Nuzzi, which was further detailed by Nuzzi's ex-fiance Ryan Lizza in an article last week, Kimmel then proceeded to read out several of the poems Kennedy allegedly sent Nuzzi while she was engaged.
The couple shared that when the news first hit Kimmel was being taken off of the air, they decided to sit down with their 8-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter to explain the situation to them. "Our son asked if the president had done this, McNearney said. And we looked at each other, and we didn't know quite how to answer that question. I think I said yes,' Kimmel said. We did, we actually both said yes' at the exact same time, McNearney confirmed right after.
World-famous drag queen Trixie Mattel appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show to read a book to kids, as drag queens do. And the book she read was one "written" by Donald Trump's "least favorite son," Eric Trump. Trixie held up a copy of Eric Trump's Under Siege and told the kids: "Hey listen, we have to pay respect because this ghost writer worked really hard on this."
How long after the initial episode where you made the comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the Monday episode, did you realize there was a problem?
So I go into the bathroom, and I'm on the phone with the ABC executives, and they say, 'Listen, we want to take the temperature down. We're concerned about what you're going to say tonight,'
Seattle is ahead of us! Indivisible there has weekly protests re Sinclair's refusal to air Jimmy Kimmel in that market (www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/850025/). Portland, with KATU as another ABC Sinclair station, hasn't reacted similarly. Let's write, phone, or even protest now (see https://katu.com/station/contact)! Then check out recent Kimmel youtube episodes to up online viewership and consider subscribing too to show support (& I did the same for Colbert).
Here is my last point on Kimmel. If Kimmel came on and apologized like this the day after his remarks he probably wouldn't have been suspended. But by all accounts he wanted to double down. Again for the billionth time this isn't a free speech issue. He works for Mickey Mouse on NETWORK TV. Nobody said he was going to jail.
It was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man. I don't think there's anything funny about it.... Nor was it my intention to blame any specific group for the actions of what - it was obviously a deeply disturbed individual. That was really the opposite of the point I was trying to make. But I understand that to some, that felt either ill-timed or unclear, or maybe both. And for those who think I did point a finger, I get why you're upset. If the situation was reversed, there's a good chance I'd have felt the same way.
