A Hawaii visitor has died from injuries due to an assault earlier this month in Waikiki. The attack took place just after midnight on Nov. 8 on a side street between the heavily touristed Kalakaua and Kuhio avenues, in front of a hostel. According to the Honolulu Police Department, a 43-year-old man, unprovoked, assaulted a 50-year-old male visitor. "The victim sustained severe head injuries and was treated and transported to the hospital by EMS," the police said.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of a man in East Gwillimbury, Ont. over the weekend, police say. York Regional Police identified the victim in a news release as Kurl Burry, 57, of Bowmanville, Ont. Police were called at about 11:30 p.m. Friday about an alleged assault at a home on Queensville Side Road E., east of Yonge Street.
