The attack happened around 11:30 a.m. Aug. 29 inside Santa Rosa Plaza. Police said the teenager was waiting in the mall's food court when three people approached and demanded his expensive shoes. When he refused, one of them punched him in the face. He ran and was chased but managed to reach mall security. He was taken by ambulance to hospital and treated for broken facial bones. The attackers ran off before officers arrived.
NBC Bay Area had a report Friday that a man was shot and killed in Santa Rosa, with police responding at about 6:25 am to reports of a man found lying in the bike lane of the 2200 block of Santa Rosa's Brookwood Avenue. Police found the man with a gunshot wound and declared him dead at the scene, though did not release his identity at the time.
ABC7 News video showing a Toyota Camry left on concrete blocks in the Windmill Circle neighborhood of Santa Rosa got a quick response from police and the community. Multiple people sent similar pictures of wheelless cars to ABC7 News on social media. One shot of a car sitting on blocks without wheels near Coleman Glen Lane. Another near Sebastopol Road, and another on Doubles Drive.
