Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office tactical team deputies arrested a man Thursday afternoon following a brief standoff at a house in the Kendale Lakes neighborhood.

A man suspected of assaulting a woman with a knife was arrested after a lengthy standoff, leading to multiple charges including battery and resisting arrest.

The San Francisco police made an arrest following a three-hour standoff with a suspect who barricaded himself inside a home after violating a restraining order.

"I've heard some of the frustration and concerns [from people in Northwest]. I've also heard some of the appreciation expressed by Portlanders in terms of the approach we took on Monday to try and deescalate things as the incident unfolded."

A 33-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot by police while allegedly threatening officers with a gun during a standoff incident.

Police were engaged in a nearly 17-hour stand-off with a man armed with a knife before lifting the cordons and allowing residents to return home.

The pursuit ended in the driveway of a home on Fuller Avenue, which runs parallel to I-880.
