One teen died and four others were injured in a suspected DUI crash in Novato involving a 17-year-old driver.
Three young people are dead and a fourth is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle crash on a gravel road near Hanover on Tuesday. All four teens were students at John Diefenbaker Senior School (JDSS) in Hanover and were between the ages of 15 and 17, said West Grey Police Const. Allyson Iles said. Three of the teens, two boys and a girl, were thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Upon arriving at the scene, troopers observed a gray 2019 Honda Civic off the roadway in a nearby wooded area with significant damage to its passenger side, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. Two occupants had been ejected from the vehicle, officials said. One of those ejected was pronounced dead at the scene and was later identified as Gabriel Bertolino Siqueira, 17, of West Yarmouth, a senior at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
Local News Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. A car crashed into a telephone on Tuesday night, killing three teenagers in New Hampshire, according to police. New Hampshire State Police report that at 11:10 p.m., they received a call about a crash on Route 47 or Bennington Road in Francestown. An initial investigation showed that a 2013 Ford Focus traveling southbound on Route 47 veered off the road and crashed into a telephone pole. The Ford continued along the shoulder before rolling over onto its roof. Police say the crash threw the occupants from the vehicle. They were dead when troopers and emergency medical personnel arrived.
Maria Niotis, one of two teenage girls killed in a hit-and-run in New Jersey Monday, was laid to rest Friday morning. The service took place at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Union. Family and friends came together in the wake of tragedy to remember a young life taken far too soon. Hundreds gathered Friday to say goodbye, and to celebrate Niotis' life.
In the first crash, shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, 18-year-old Savannah Salemme of Dighton died at the scene, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. The single-vehicle crash happened at 168 Tremont St. in Taunton. "First responders located a Toyota Tacoma pick up truck that was fully engulfed," the DA's office said. "Initial observations determined that the vehicle left the roadway on Tremont Street, struck the front porch of the home at 168 Tremont Street
