16 hours agoFire fighters tackle large fire in Cork city centre as properties evacuated
The blaze erupted shortly after 7pm on Thursday in a commercial property just off Oliver Plunkett Street, one of Cork's busiest city centre retail and entertainment areas. Motorists were urged to avoid the area as multiple Cork Fire Brigade crews deployed to tackle the fire after the alarm was raised by pedestrians who saw smoke pouring from the building roof. The blaze also triggered a number of fire alarms.
