The trial, which began in Munich in February, sees two former Development Board chairs and two leading engineers facing charges for their alleged role in the massive environmental and business scandal that first made global headlines over a decade ago.
The event will take place alongside Transpotec Logitec, bringing together passenger and freight transport stakeholders within the same exhibition venue, enhancing collaboration and innovation in the transport sector.
"The start of the year has been extremely sluggish for German industry," said Elmar Voelker, an analyst at the bank LBBW, noting that "the fleeting hopes of a recovery that had emerged last autumn have evaporated for now."
Volkswagen's answer has involved using the "ID." preface for its EVs. It's a relatively elegant solution to this issue but one that's also led to other problems. Namely, the numbers used for the series of EVs don't give a sense of what drivers can expect. The ID.4 is an SUV, while the ID.7 is a sedan.
Kia is also considering entering the segment with what will presumably be called the EV1, a small city hatchback positioned below the EV2 in its electric lineup. Seeing the success of cars like the Renault 5, which is a conventional hatchback, not a crossover, as well as the very positive reception for the new Twingo, likely pushed other manufacturers to want to make their own.
