Coffee topped the list, reaching a 20-year high in U.S. consumption in 2024. Many respondents expressed concerns about the long-term availability and pricing of these products, with an emphasis on sustainable storage practices. Despite a temporary relief on tariffs from Canada, fears still drove many to stock up on maple syrup, which has a long shelf life when stored properly.
Despite an 11th-hour deal to delay 25 percent tariffs on Canadian goods, more than 30 respondents said they were still stocking up on maple syrup.
Coffee was the most frequently mentioned item overall. Consumption in the United States hit a 20-year high in 2024.
