Perfectionism Has No End to It

Perfectionists experience difficulties in defining their self-worth and often rely on external validation while dismissing feedback from others. They tend to mask underlying feelings of shame and regret through heightened work preoccupations. Acknowledging that others can love them according to their own standards is crucial for emotional well-being. Perfectionism creates a self-imposed barrier that prevents them from confronting personal relationships and their own lovability. Ultimately, perfectionism lacks a stable standard, as the criteria for feeling worthy evolve and can inhibit true connections with others.
Perfectionism is a barrier; we place it in front ourselves to avoid dealing with painful feelings. Doing so helps me avoid having to deal with severed relationships.
Perfectionists often need others to validate them while often rejecting their feedback. Accepting that others can love us based on their own standards brings us closer to emotional well-being.
