Don't Silence Your Inner Critic. Talk to It.
Briefly

Conventional leadership advice has encouraged individuals to suppress their inner critics, that nagging voice suggesting they are unworthy or unprepared. However, attempts to silence these critical thoughts typically do not succeed. Instead, failing to silence this inner voice can result in a cycle of shame, intensifying self-criticism rather than alleviating it. Acknowledging and understanding this inner dialogue may be a more effective approach instead of striving to silence it entirely.
For years, conventional leadership wisdom has advised us to silence our inner critic - that voice in our heads that says we're not enough, not ready, not worthy. But if you've ever tried this, you likely know it rarely works.
Worse, when we fail to silence that voice, we often feel ashamed for being so self-critical in the first place. It's a shame spiral.
