On April 14, 2025, the remains of two mutilated animals were found at the Centerville Train Station in Fremont. Authorities were alerted by Amtrak police who discovered one animal, decapitated and eviscerated, on a park bench. Additional findings included bags containing a second decapitated animal and internal organs. The Fremont police have enlisted the help of a forensic veterinarian to identify the species and ascertain the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as new information arises. Public assistance is sought for any additional information.
