For my parents, it was a goldmine. People were starved of luxury for almost 30 years, and they were hungry to discover the world and everything it had to offer. I was 8 years old at the time, and I remember when my parents told my younger siblings and me that we would be moving. My heart sank. I just started primary school and had to leave my friends behind and start over again. The worst part, though, was that I had to leave my grandpa behind. I remember missing him so much, even though we visited him a couple of times a year.

Honestly, I hate the idea that anybody is "too big" for a holiday craft almost as much as I hate the idea that a craft can be "too simple" for somebody. Literally the entire world could benefit from an hour alone with some construction paper and a glue stick, and holiday crafts are always such a great family bonding moment. So don't feel like because you have big kids you have to find a Christmas craft worthy of selling on Etsy.

When I was 10, I remember preparing for the most exciting adventure of my life - so far. My family and I were going on a cruise from Mumbai to Lakshadweep Island. I could hardly stand the anticipation. My father, in those days, was still an up-and-coming businessman, and paying for our travels didn't come easy. But he always made sure to prioritize travel.
