PG&E confirmed that a gas leak had occurred near that location. LFB Dozens of firefighters have extinguished a fire in the basement of a data centre in east London. London Fire Brigade (LFB) said around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines were called to Nutmeg Lane, Blackwall at 04:50 GMT on Saturday. The fire broke out in a battery room containing lead-acid batteries and was brought under control before 07:00. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
On arrival, a small fire which had been extinguished, was found in a bedroom. Residents had already evacuated. One casualty was handed over into the care of the National Ambulance Service and the building made safe.
Met Éireann has issued rainfall alerts for 11 counties as further downpours on top of already swollen rivers and saturated land threaten potentially damaging flooding across Munster, Leinster and Ulster. The worst of the flooding is expected tonight and early tomorrow morning across Wicklow and Waterford, though flooding is also possible in nine other counties, particularly Wexford, Kilkenny and Dublin.
