DALY CITY - A house caught fire Tuesday morning in Daly City, injuring a resident and a firefighter, fire officials said. The fire broke out around 8:35 a.m. in the first block of Mateo Avenue, according to the North County Fire Authority. Crews arrived to find the first floor of a two-story home filled with heavy smoke and a bedroom in flames, fire officials said. They put out the fire while searching the residence.
A woman has died after a blaze tore through a home in south-west London. Firefighters were called to Broome Road in Hampton just after 1.20am on Sunday, following reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, crews found half of the fire floor of a mid-terraced property had been damaged by the fire, London Fire Brigade said. One woman was tragically found dead at the scene. The fire was extinguished by 4am. The cause of the fire is under investigation, LFB said.
A house fire in Mississauga on Halloween night is being investigated as suspicious, Peel police say. Just before 9 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a residential fire in the area of Mississauga and Kane roads, where they found Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services crews working to extinguish a blaze at a two-storey home, Peel police said in an email. The house sustained heavy damage as a result.
A boy with severe autism who died in a fire in Oshawa earlier this month was a joyful and friendly child who loved dancing to Disney songs and playing dress up, his mother said. Bentley Dunn, 11, was found dead inside a trailer that had caught fire on Oct. 18. He loved to run around and be free, he was very much a free spirit, said his mother, Amanda Dunn.

The FDNY received a call just after 6:20 a.m. on Sept. 12 of a fire in a two-story private home at 15-11 124th St., and arriving units found heavy fire and some conditions emanating from the home. A second alarm was transmitted just before 6:30 a.m. bringing a total of 25 units with 120 firefighters and EMS personnel to the scene between 15th Avenue and 18th Avenue, according to the FDNY.
