Now, though, the land under the iconic Royal Hawaiian Hotel, also known as the "Pink Palace of the Pacific," has been sold. Landowner Kamehameha Schools announced earlier this month that it had sold the 10.3-acre parcel for $510 million to Daisho Co. Ltd., a Japan-based real estate company. It's the second major property sale the trust has sold this year. In September, it sold nearly 500 acres under the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on Hawaii Island to billionaire Michael Dell for an estimated $400 million.
Actor Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have reportedly found a buyer for their Hidden Hills mansion, per TMZ. After about 28 years of marriage, news of the couple's separation made headlines earlier this month. The star and the fashion designer bought the contemporary California abode for $9.5 million in 2020, shortly before serving their months-long prison sentences for the Varsity Blues college admissions scandal.

At the corner of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road and South Mathilda Avenue, the development would consist of 162 apartments and 80 townhomes, documents show. Valley Oak Partners filed the development application and steered the proposal through the city review process. The timeline to build the project wasn't immediately known. Plans on file with Sunnyvale officials show the housing would include a two-level garage and about 2,000 square feet of commercial spaces on the ground floor.
PALO ALTO A home in a prestigious Palo Alto neighborhood has been bought for $40 million in cash, according to documents filed on Oct. 6 with the Santa Clara County Recorder's Office. Michael Rantz and Paula Rantz sold the residence at 330 Santa Rita Ave. in the Old Palo Alto district to Golden Coast Holdings Trust, whose trustee was listed as Douglas Christen, documents show. The 4,400-square-foot house has six bedrooms and four baths. It occupies a lot that totals about 0.2 acres.

Potrero Hill music venue Thee Parkside could close after 25 years, as its building is in the process of being sold to a new landlord, Thee Parkside owner Malia Spanyol told Mission Local. According to a real estate listing, the property at 1600 17th St. is currently "in contract." Mission Local reports that the buyer signed paperwork this week to buy the building for nearly $1.33 million and it is currently in escrow.
