BAMPFA is a forum for cultural experiences that transform individuals and advance the local, national, and global discourse on art and film, uniquely dedicated to art and film in equal measure.

We imagine the Marianne and Edward Gibson Art Museum to be a place that, metaphorically speaking, encourages edge effects, referring to conditions created when two adjacent ecological communities meet.

Every Saturday the Legion of Honor offers free general admission to all residents of the nine Bay Area counties. This includes engaging family activities such as art making and gallery discussions.
